Sharing Some Hobby House Inspiration Today!

Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a good day:)
Now I know it is Wednesday and I usually share a Heartfelt Creation design with you, but it is also my day to inspire you with a Hobby House creation......and as I haven't uploaded a card over on the Heartfelt blog I thought I would share one with you tomorrow.

I have used an adorable Sylvia Zet topper and created a spring card:

I also thought you would like to see this Easter bonnet box that I demo'd on Create & Craft back at the beginning of April....I know it is a little late to be sharing an Easter project with you, but I was really pleased with how this turned out:)

  • The toppers on both cards are The Hobby House:Wee Stamp Toppers - Wee Bunnies
  • The embellishments on both the card and the Bonnet are from The Hobby House Spring Time Embellishment sets.
  • I have used the Heartfelt Creations decorative circle die from the Raindrops on Roses die set on both projects.
  • I made the main oval card with Spellbinder Grand Ovals.I have used the Spellbinder Grand Decorative One oval die and also embossed it with the Spellbinder M-Bossabilities Elegance embossing folder (design A) for the blue mat.
  • The base of the bonnet is Spellbinder Scalloped Circles.
  • I created the decorative edging on the bonnet with a Martha Stewart punch.
  • To finish both projects off I of course added some stickles glitter:)
Now I really must dash and finish packing for my little trip to Spain:)
I will try very hard to bring some sunshine back with me :)

I will still be blogging whilst I am there and also launching a very! very! special Blog Candy......:) x
I am not sure if it will be Thursday or Friday as it depends on my internet access!

Take care everyone:) x

Journey of a Lifetime

A very good evening to you all! I hope you all had a good weekend:) x
First I would like to apologise for the lack of posts over the last week and the coming week.
I am busy beavering away in my craft room trying to get lots of samples made for my next Heartfelt Creations show.
My next show is Sunday May 11th......a 2 hour show from 9am - 11am!!! Ooohhh I couldn't believe that Create and Craft trust me to do a 2 hour show lol! I am very excited:)....have you seen the sneaky peek over on the Heartfelt Creations Facebook page?.....I didn't make it, but 'Wow' it is a stunning creations! You are going to love the new collection:)

I am also going away on Thursday to our friends villa in Spain.....we will be back on Monday, but am really looking forward to some quality time with my hubby and my 2 youngest children:).....Of course my Copics and water colour pens will be coming along with me as I have some gorgeous images to colour  up:)

My card that I would like to share with you today is similar to one that I shared a few days ago....one of my favourite cards that I have made using the Celebrate the Journey collection! Here is the link to the other card - Time for a Getaway
For this card though I have chosen a lush pink combo. It just goes to show that using similar elements, but choosing different colours you can completely change the style of a card.

  • For this card I have used lot's of elements from the Celebrate the Journey collection.
  • I have die cut 2 of the Suitcases and stamped one with the co-ordinating stamp.
  • I stamped the map onto some white paper. I tore the paper into 3 and have used some Tea Dye, Walnut Stain distress inks and also some VersaMark ink - Pink Petunia.....scrunching and folding the paper whilst inking it up. I rolled 2 up and tied with some twine and added the other as to make it look like it is coming out of the suitcase.
  • I have made a small rose using the Vintage Floret dies and stamps.
  • After adding the elements to the card I added some stickles glitter - Pink Taffeta.
  • To finish I added a twine bow, pearl brad and a vintage 'journey' charm.
That's all from me this evening.
Take care x

Blog Candy winner and a 'Special Day Card'

Happy Friday everyone:) Have you lot's of crafting planned this weekend:).....I have a demo day at Sir Stampalot tomorrow:) Always a fun day and a chance to have some crafty chats:)

I have another card to share with you all today that I demo'd on C&C.....although I did stamp the bike on the tag after I had die cut the tag out which made the image the other way round:)....It was rather funny because Dean couldn't see it until I had almost finished the card....but  live TV doesn't always go to plan, but the finished card I thought looked just as nice, just the other way round:)

For those of you that didn't watch the show this is the card that I made:(a bit blurry, sorry).
  • I stamped and die cut the elements out and stamped the bike twice and cut out the basket of flowers and layered it onto the basket on the main bike with some pinflair gel to add some dimension!
And this is the sample card: On this one I stamped the bike first and then die cut it out with the tag die, which is why it came out the opposite way to the one I demo'd:)

I just love all the elements from this collection , whether you stamp and die cut them out or use the papers they are perfect for many occasions:)
Another quickie post today!

Ooooh and the Easter blog candy winner is................................ SusanP, Kent!!!! Congratulations:)
If you email me your details and your chosen Heartfelt Creations stamp I will get your crafty goodies off to you:)

Heartfelt Creations - Time for a Getaway

A very good morning to you all:) I hope you are all well on this glorious Wednesday!

Today I would like to share one of my favourite cards that I made using Celebrate the Journey collection. I also demo'd this one on the Heartfelt Creations show with Emma Lou.....Well ok I made a very similar card LOL! It is one thing that I still haven't got used to...having to talk to the presenter (in Dean's case usually not about the actual card) and also make the card!  I am sure in time it is something that I will be able to get use too:)

Unfortunately my card today isn't on the Heartfelt Creations website, but please do hop on over and take a look at all the creations that the DT have made....as always you won't be disappointed:)

  • The main card blank measures 7" square which I made using some Kraft card.
  • I have distressed all the edges and added some Tea Dye distress ink.
  • I chose some blue patterned paper from the Celebrate the Journey collection and matted this onto some brown card, which I then adhered to the main card.
  • I have used lot's of elements from this collection, starting with the suitcase, some stamped elements and also some tags from the papers.
  • I stamped the map and tore it into 4 strips. I have aged the map using Tea Dye and Walnut stain distress inks. I rolled 3 of the strips up and tied with some twine. The 4th and largest of the strips I have added so that it looks like it is kind of falling out of the suitcase.
  • Finally I have added a vintage brass charm.
I just love the suitcase and for those of you that didn't see the show it is so versatile..... you can even make it into a little handbag....which I will be sharing with you in the May collection:).....my lips are sealed, but I know you will just love this collection.  I haven't had any confirmed dates from Create and Craft yet but I will post the date and times as soon as I here anything:)

Take care everyone and enjoy the rest of your day:) x
Oh, and thank you Sam Smithard for bringing to my attention that my Pinterest buttons have disappeared! Not sure where they have gone....maybe on vacation lol, but I will get this sorted later today:) x

Heartfelt Creations - 'The World'

Hello fellow bloggers.....I hope you have all enjoyed this Easter Weekend:)
I have had a rather chilled one......a little gardening, some spring cleaning and just basically being somewhat of what my daughter called a 'lazy bum' :) It has been a nice break though! I am now itching to get back in my craft room:)

My card I would like to share with you all today is using one of the Heartfelt Creations panels from Celebrate the Journey paper collection.

  •  I adhered some pale dusky blue card to my card blank.
  • I cut the panel from the paper collection and matted it onto a Spellbinder - Detailed Scallops which I die cut in pale dusky blue card,
  • I added 3 pieces of ribbon.
  • I die cut and heat embossed in gold detail embossing powder the Celebrate the Journey sentiments. I used 'The World' sentiment and layered it onto the decorative compass. I then adhered this to the centre of the card.
  • I finished the card with a small bow and a vintage metal charm.
Just a quickie post today.
Don't forget if you haven't added a comment over on my blog candy giveaway post it isn't to late....just click on the blog giveaway button in the sidebar.

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday

Hello everyone on this glorious sunny Wednesday morning.....well it is here in East Anglia UK so I hope you are all getting to enjoy some too:)

Being Wednesday it is time for myself and the rest of the Heartfelt Creations Design Team to share our creations with you, So if you are looking for some inspiration please hop on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog HERE

I am sharing another card using the Bicycle, but this time the bicycle is printed on the panel from the paper collection.
With this card  I have cut out a panel leaving one side attached to make a kind of door which is hiding a hidden sentiment.

Here you can see the card with the panel door closed:

In this picture you can see the panel door slightly open:

Finally in this picture you can see the hidden sentiment:

Something just a little bit different today:)

Cream card blank, dusky pink polka dot embossed card, black card, decorative pearls on string, decorative pearl button, dusky pink organza ribbon, vintage postcard charm, Stickles Glitter - pink Taffeta, adhesive, foam pads, Versa Magic ink - Pink Petunia

Instructions:
Begin with a cream card base measuring 6 3/4 x 6 3/4" square. Matte a piece of black card onto the base card measuring 6 1/4" square using foam pads. Cut the bicycle panel out from the paper collection and cut the outer border away to give you a panel measuring just under 5 1/2" square. Adhere this to some dusky pink polka dot embossed card measuring 6" square. Using a knife cut out the inner panel, leaving the right hand side. Use a score board to score along the right hand side so that it opens nicely. Adhere this to the main card using foam pads. Die cut out the decorative circle from the Raindrops on Roses die set in the pink polka dot embossed card. Cut this in half and adhere to the top of the inner panel. Add the decorative pearls on string around the inner opening panel and along the top of the decorative circle die. Make a small double bow with the dusky pink organza ribbon and adhere with a strong adhesive to the right hand side of the opening panel (this is what will be used to open the door). Add a decorative pearl button and the postcard charm. Die cut out the Discover tag using the co-ordinating die and add this to the top of the bow at an angle. Die cut out another decorative circle in the dusky pink card and adhere this to the inside of the panel door. Stamp and die cut out the sentiment The World and adhere this to the centre of the decorative circle. You can if you wish decorate the inside of the card with co-ordinating paper and card. To finish add a little Stickles glitter.

I hope like my card today:)

I will be back tomorrow with another card and another BLOG CANDY giveaway:)

Take care everyone and enjoy the rest of your day:) x

Celebrate the Journey Show

Evening everyone:) x I hope you are all well and all had a  good weekend!

WOW! what an amazing few days I have had.....Yesterday I met Emma Lou and Richard from Heartfelt Creations to discuss the Create & Craft show today.....not sure what they thought of my choice of restaurant :) And of course today we had the 2 live hour shows bringing you the Celebrate the Journey collection..... an amazingly beautiful collection.
The shows went very, very well and were very enjoyable with the help from the fabulous Dean:)

I am so sorry I didn't get round to blogging a sneak peek of some of the cards yesterday, but I am here this evening to share one of my favourite samples that I made for the show.

  • I started with a black card blank measuring 7"x7"
  • I chose one of the 6" x 6" pink panels from the paper collection and adhered this to the card.
  • I die cut 2 of the decorative dies from the Timeless Amour die set. and adhered these to the top of the card.
  • Next I die cut and stamped a variety of size Vintage Florets and made them into one medium rose and 2 small roses. I also stamped and die cut some of the classic leaves and cut them up into single leaves.
  • I stamped and die cut the Celebrate the Journey Sentiments in dusky pink and used the decorative compass to back the medium sized rose in the centre.
  • I also added some of the flourish leaves in black card from the Gift Ensemble die set.
  • I added the leaves and roses as in picture.
  • Next I cut out one of the plain decorative panels and matted it onto some black card. I adhered this to the bottom half of the card with some foam pads.
  • I stamped the bicycle  in black ink onto cream card, coloured it in with distress markers and adhered this to the centre of the panel.
  • I used 2 of the wheels which are from the sentiments stamp set and used my ball tool to create a more rounded effect and added these with some 3D glue gel to each wheel to add a little bit of dimension to the bicycle.
  • Next I stamped and die cut out the 'Special Day' sentiment.
  • Finally I added some Stickles Glitter.
I also would like to thank you all on behalf of myself and Emma Lou for your emails....we had so many:) and Congratulations to the ladies that each will be receiving a card:)

I hope you liked my card  today:)
Take care and thank you for visiting my blog x

New Heartfelt Creations Release - Celebrate the Journey

Good afternoon everyone!  A little late with my Heartfelt Creations post....sorry, but better late than never:) I had my grandson this morning which wasn't planned so has put me a bit behind!

It is another new release today:)
We are pleased to bring you our latest release and we invite you to “Celebrate the Journey” with this classic travel-themed collection.  Whether you are traveling around the world or around the block, you will find papers, stamps and dies to document your life’s adventures.  The coordinating stamps and papers feature maps, compass roses, bicycles, hot air balloons, vintage suitcases, boarding passes and postcards. The clever Luggage and Tag die even creates a delightful 3-D suitcase! Soft hues of light green, deep teal, pink and rose merge with subtle, neutral backgrounds that are richly layered with beautiful fonts, flourishes and focal images.  “Celebrate the Journey” is just the ticket for both masculine and feminine projects, the perfect traveling companion for all of life’s journeys great and small.
  • I have used the luggage stamp and die to create the cute little suitcase.
  • The hot air balloon is another great stamp...I have stamped and fussy cut this out as it doesn't come with a die, but very easy to cut out still.
  • I have layered a panel from the paper collection onto some cream card and then adhered this to a 7" square black card blank.
For the full details on how I made the card and the products I used please visit the Heartfelt Creations blog HERE......you will also find lot's of inspiring creations from the ultra talented design team and if you leave a comment you could win this entire collection worth about $180!!!!

Hobby House sneak peek

Good evening everyone!
This is a rather late post for me today, but I have to leave for the Create and Craft studio early in the morning (only a 25min drive though), and promised you all a sneak peek of a card I will be demoing tomorrow on my Hobby House show at 11am.
What do you think to my new look blog? It is unfinished as I have to change the background and the colour of the links etc....I wanted to go for a more neutral colour so that it didn't clash with the cards and projects that I post etc:) Hopefully I will have it finished by Monday......It is time for the dreaded VAT and as per usual I have left it until the last minute! So it looks like I will be swapping my crafting hat for my book keeping one:(

So anyway here is one of the cards I plan to demo tomorrow, it is a baby bib card....the inspiration coming from a card I saw a few years back in blog land!

  • I have die cut the main card from a Spellbinder Grand Scalloped Oval die.
  • I have used a small circle die to cut the neck of the bib.
  • The paper is from my stash (Lili of the Valley I think) which I have embossed with the Spellbinder embossing folder - Dainty Dots, design B.
  • I have inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • I have used one of the die cut toppers which are available on the show - Wee Stamps, It's a Boy by the artist Sylvia Zet.
  • I have used a small Spellbinder scalloped circle die to mat the topper onto.
  • The flowers, ribbon, pearls and buttons are also The Hobby House which are also on the show.
  • I have also added a little Stickles glitter:)
I hope you can all join me at 11am on Create & Craft tomorrow (Friday) for lot's of Hobby House inspiration!
I will be back on Saturday with some more inspiration and a new blog candy launch.....
probably will not be to early as I am baby sitting my grandchildren over night on Friday:)

Take care x
Hugs Nikki x

'Sun Kissed' Heartfelt Creations Wednesday

Good morning fellow blogging friends:) It is of course Wednesday and time for some more Heartfelt Creation inspiration over on the blog which you can find HERE....I promise you will not be disappointed! One of the DT ladies - Penny has even created a fabulous piece of jewellery using the Once Upon a Time collection:).....Oh and you will find another sneak peek at the soon to be released 'Celebrate the Journey' and some news on what myself and Heartfelt Creations Creative Director - Emma Lou will be up to on April 14th:)
Unfortunately my card that I am sharing today isn't over on the HC blog today as I missed the deadline for uploading it...Sorry:(.. It sure is a busy time for me at the moment:)

  • My card today measures 8"x8", which I have used a cream card blank.
  • I cut a piece of patterned sentiment paper from the Once Upon a Time collection measuring  5 1/2" x6 1/4" and matted it on some deep pink card.
  • I then matted this onto some pale pink card and added some pale pink organza ribbon and deep pink ribbon.
  • Next I used a Martha Stewart pinch and made 2 borders and added these from the back before adhering it to the card blank.
  • I used the Sun Kissed Fleur flower stamps and die on pale pink card to create the flowers. (I used clear embossing powder).
  • I added some silicon glue to the centre of the flowers and added some olive green glitter.
  • I used the Timeless Sentiments which I stamped with pink ink and matted it onto some deep pink card before matting it onto the decorative sentiment frame.
  • I adhered the sentiment to the card.
This is again another quick card to create...but if you prefer a stamped background you could of course use the Embrace Time background stamp which co-ordinates with this paper:)

I will be back soon with a sneak peek of what I will be showcasing on Create & Craft on Friday and also another blog candy launch:) .....oh and hopefully a new look blog:) x

Take care everyone:)
